Hiking: If you’re excited by visions of hiking well maintained trails, finding panoramic vistas, breathing fresh mountain air, splashing in crisp clear streams, and relaxing in forests abundant with wildlife, then you have found your outdoor paradise in the mountains and woods of Northern New Hampshire.
Finding a trail that’s just right for you can make your hike a lasting memory. My wife Debbie and I have been avid hikers for the last fifteen years and have done all of the four thousand footers in NH and several in Maine, including the Cohos Trail, which extends from the Presidentials and passes through our property on its way to Pittsburg, NH and eventually links with a trail system in Quebec. We can help you find a hike that will suit your abilities.

Canoeing, Kayaking, and River Rafting: A multitude of crystal-clear lakes and rivers that beckon to canoe and kayak enthusiasts. Whether you want to go out for a day with a rafting company on the Androscoggin or the Connecticut, or you want to float down the Ammonoosic with some of your friends we have the place to do all of that within a few minutes drive of our Cabin.

Maple Sugaring: In March the maple trees in the North begin to send nutrients to the top of the trees and we begin the age old business of tapping and collecting Maple sap, processing it into" Maple Syrup " that we all enjoy on our pancakes and waffles. Throughout Northern NH we have several " Sugar Makers " who are actively involved in this business. If you give us a call we can refer you to many of these operations which have been carrying on a tradition that has lasted since the first settlers arrived in this area in the late 1700S.
New Hampshire is proud of it’s maple sugaring history. In the 1850S we made more than 2500 gallons of Maple Syrup in the town of Stark NH and it was common for all of the surrounding towns to make a similar quantity. That syrup was used for the sugar needs of most families throughout the year.

Photography: As the Spring thaw leads to rising water levels, this picturesque region is one of New England’s best places take dramatic photographs of water cascading over the waterfalls and flowing through the rocky streams into beautiful lakes throughout the area. You’ll be treated to a glorious display of colorful flowers as spring brings us increasing warmth, longer days, and renewing rain showers, making this the perfect time to make hiking with your camera a rewarding experience.
